Foam boards are really, really fun. Even more so if you’re able to surf them like, say, Tyler Stanaland or Jamie O’Brien, but there’s just something wonderfully freeing about almost entirely giving up any notions of “performance surfing.” Foamies have this weird ability to make surfing even less serious than it already is, and that’s a good thing–because if there’s one thing sliding around on waves shouldn’t be, it’s serious.
