Cyclone Marcus was a very large storm. As the most powerful storm to hit Darwin in three decades, it left tens of thousands of people in the city without power or drinkable water. Winds of over 80 mph uprooted hundreds of trees, took out power lines, and generally wreaked havoc. But oh, the waves. The footage you see above was all shot in the span of about two hours as the storm lost a bit of its violence by Alastair Witt, and it’s proof that silver linings can be pretty damn shiny.
