If you’re anything like us, when you watched the Corona Open J-Bay back in July, one of the highlights was actually outside of the main event. For the past few years, the event title sponsor, Corona, has injected new life into an already amazing event with its Highline heat. The premise being a crop of surfers that excel on alternative craft (some of which are also on tour) ride twin fins in a throwback contest that favors style over technical ability.
This year, Mikey February shaped a crop of twin fins for his fellow competitors Steph Gilmore, Johanne Defay, and Ryan Callinan.
In the weeks leading up to the event, Mikey went on a bit of a road trip through his native South Africa – from Durban down to J-Bay – riding a quiver of twin fins with the style and grace we’ve grown accustomed to seeing from the man. Directed by Kai Neville, the short above is very much worth your time.
