The Inertia

Okay, I’ll admit it, I’m a sucker for livable vehicles. The type you can drive down the Baja to any surf spot you want, camp for weeks and live the good life. Or, park at the top of your favorite pass in the winter, wake up in the morning and skin to the best lines you’ve snowboarded in months. All to live the good life. That’s why I’d recommend checking out this 1978 Toyota truck that’s in cherry condition with a Chinook pop-up camper.

Chinook has long been a name in motorhomes, but went out of business in 2005 during the recession. The brand didn’t lose any of its luster with longtime fans, and apparently reopened in 2013 thanks to a Las Vegas investor. According to the company website, they’re still in business today.

But back to this Chinook beauty. The YouTube channel OttoEx profiled this 4×4 Toyota. It boasts a five-speed transmission with a heavily modified, rebuilt engine. The inside of the camper looks pristine, with running water and all the amenities you need to live the good life. And that’s what we’re after right?
