Joel Tudor is one of the most stylish longboarders in surfing. And as the old saying goes, “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”
On a trip to Mexico, Joel and Tosh slid into a few fantastic little waves, mostly riding single and twin fins. Joel, as you may or may not know, could be described as outspoken. He’s not afraid to make his mind known, and that mind usually has a bone to pick with someone, especially when it comes to opinions around the art/sport of riding a longboard.
A while back, Joel was suspended from WSL events after a social media spat rubbed the powers-that-be the wrong way.
Shortly after that decision was made, we got a hold of both Joel and the WSL to hear what they had to say.
It was an interesting look at both sides of the coin, to say the least. But while Joel’s willingness to shout from the rooftops may serve as a stick in the craw of some, his surfing is undeniably great. Tosh is taking up his father’s torch with outstretched hands, and seeing them surf together is interesting because the viewer can see their styles bleeding into one another. Like father like son, right?
