The Inertia

The Billabong Pro Pipeline is in the books, and it’s going to be a chapter that people remember. The waves were fantastic, the competition was fierce, and Kelly Slater, just shy of 50 years old, took home his eighth win at the iconic wave. The winter on the North Shore so far has been a wildly good one, with swell after swell pumping through. While Kelly Slater might’ve won, the highest scoring wave went to Joao Chianca. His insane wave in the Round of 16 netted him a 9.87.  With the Pipe event in the rearview mirror, the World Surf League put together a quick hit of the top 10 scoring waves from the contest… and they’re good, to say the least.
