Todd Glaser has been both lucky enough, and talented enough, to be one of Kelly Slater’s best photographers. They’ve also become fast friends – as will often happen after traveling with someone for years. That’s generally a good thing when photographing a subject. Those moments of access that only come when you’re close to someone for long periods of time are incredibly valuable, and Glaser’s body of work with Kelly in stark relief is proof. Such is the case with a particular set of images taken to highlight something not often highlighted in action: fins.
Kelly Slater has never been one to shy away from trying new things, and as a part of the marketing for his new line of fins, called Endorfins, Glaser sat down to explain how, exactly one ends up with the incredible images he routinely shoots on his hard drive. Turns out it’s a whole lot of experience and a little bit of luck.
