The Inertia

“It’s no wonder the twin is making a march back into flavor.” So says Tom Carroll after riding a CI Twin Pin on a bright Australian day. The legend joined Luca Elder to break down the board that is flying off the shelves.

Carroll is right, of course. Twins have enjoyed a resurgence in the last few years. There are a few reasons why: riding boards that aren’t a standard thruster is en vogue right now, and twins are incredibly fun once you have them dialed in. Depending on how you surf, they can help inject a little more flow, a little more soul into your surfing.

The board is a result of a collaboration between Mikey February and Britt Merrick. For a little more than two years, they worked on refining it into something with a serious throwback style and a whole lot of progression mixed in for good measure. The goal was to create a surfboard that had all that slippery fun of a twin, but with enough hold and projection to stop you from wishing you had a third fin trailing off the back.
