A last minute call up from a crew back home saw me jump on a plane from Bali to Jakarta, Padang. En route to the Mentawais, this trip happened to be in pursuit of the so-called Century Swell, so we flew confident that we were going to score whether the swell was over-hyped or not.
Two weeks without internet and no outside contact was ideal. And over the weekend that saw the swell hit Indo, we scored perfect waves —the boys got themselves some proper pipes… and beers flowed.
Being way sun fried and having crazy long days in the water was amazing. Thanks to boys for getting me on this trip and everyone onboard Pelagic Surf Charters for the good vibes.
