The Inertia

Tim Bonython has spent a LOT of time following swells around the world. With nearly 50 years of it under his belt — much of that spent at some of the world’s heaviest waves — he’s got a ton of footage in the hard drives.

This video is 18 minutes of some of the best. “I have been chasing waves for over 47 years now,” Bonython wrote, “and this is some of the craziest 18 minutes of mayhem shot at Shipstern’s Bluff in Tasmania, The Right in Western Australia, Deadman’s and Cape Solander in Sydney, Luna’s in Victoria, Koneys in South Australia, Itacoatiara in Brazil, Cloudbreak in Fiji, Nazaré in Portugal, Mullaghmore in Ireland, Teahupo’o in Tahiti, Maverick’s in California, and Jaws in Hawaii.”

This video is part of Bonython’s series, “The Terror Vault.” After watching this, one might wonder if everyone survived. To answer: Yes, they did.
