You’ve heard of Asher Pacey. He’s probably not the first person you think of when you think of surfers, however. But when it comes to twin fins and one of the most recognizable styles out there, Pacey is at the top of the heap.
This most recent short, filmed by Matt Kleiner (who, incidentally, also made another fantastic short with Pacey a while back) is entitled Water Over Sand. It “focuses on Asher Pacey and his affinity for a pure and uncomplicated journey amongst Australia’s coastline. It depicts an adventure we all pine for…escaping the rat race, bee-lining for a remote stretch of coast off the well-worn path, equipped with little more than a swag, surfboard, fishing rod, beers, fun waves, no phone reception and a couple of good buddies to share it all with.”
After all, ain’t that what surfing’s about? Sure, it’s about the actual act of sliding on a wave. But it’s a representation of freedom, of friends, and of pure, unadulterated fun.
