Writer/Surfer

A little less than a year ago, I heard about a product via one of our contributors that appeared to be a simple solution to the small pieces of wax I had piling up in a compartment in the back of my car. Too small to use, I had forgotten to throw them away, they’d melt, and the result was (and still is) liquid wax getting all over everything in the compartment on a hot day and a chunk of sticky misshapen white stuff that’s impossible to get out on a cold day.

When I heard about what the guys at Peel Surf Co., an Orlando-based company, had developed back then – a compartment that stores your small wax pieces, melting them down into a brand new bar, I was sold. But the Orange Peel, as they call it, was not in production and a Kickstarter campaign was in the works.

Now, the Orange Peel is one step closer to being sold to the public, with their Kickstarter campaign going live today. With $1300 raised (at time of publication) of their $5000 goal on day one, it’s safe to say surfers are buying into how great, albeit simple, this idea really is.
