If you don’t know what they are, wings are a hybrid wind tool that fall somewhere between a kite and a windsurfer. They’re much easier to use and power down, and much more convenient given that they don’t require the space one needs to take off with a kite, nor does one have to lug a huge mast attached to a board down to the beach.
Kai Lenny knows how to use any wind tool but he’s taken a liking to the wing, probably because of the above factors and he knows how to harness that power to his advantage. Here, he uses a wing with a traditional tow board at Jaws and the results are, well, have a look.
