The Inertia

“If you go overboard, it will be very difficult to get you back.” No kidding.

The nine-month Volvo Ocean Race is held once every three years. Basically, it is the biggest and longest (in duration) offshore race out there — a summit of sorts in the sport, a summit that that individuals and teams alike spend their careers climbing towards. The Volvo Ocean Race began in 1973 as the Whitbread Round the World Race. Today it attracts the best and brightest sailing the deep blue sea. And it is happening now, chronicled on the Life at the Extreme landing page over at Red Bull TV.

There you’ll find an extensive range of feats that fall square on the side of utter badass-ery, but this video of a couple crews sailing into a cyclone, intentionally, is next level.
