Here’s a little insight into the life behind the mysterious @johnnyjungle (aka John Barton) who lives his life shooting some of the most amazing images out of Indonesia. Johnny bases himself in the heart of the Mentawai Islands at the epic Pitstop Hill Resort as their staff photographer.
As to how this project came about? I was on a mission with Alex Smith and Riley Laing in Indonesia, and we chased the swell to the Mentawai’s where we linked up with Johnny at the hill. I was pretty interested into the life Johnny lives and had been following his work for years so I decided to sit down with him and have a chat.
