Itacoatiara is one of Brazil’s scariest waves. It’s not for the faint of heart–when it gets big and the conditions line up, it’s no joke. It’s an interesting place. Near Rio, the wave isn’t the most consistent, but when it turns on, watch out. It’s the place where Bruno Santos and Gulherme Herdi cut their teeth, among others.
