There’s something about odd waves that I just can’t get enough of. I used to say to myself, “After I surf this next novelty, it’ll be enough,” thinking I’d just walk away and go back to surfing normal waves. The reality is I just can’t seem to find my way out of that maze. After getting a few strange surf breaks under my belt, I started allowing myself to dig into this infatuation completely. Now, surfing novelty waves is a full on growing obsession. Some of the most exciting rides come from the journey before I even find my next wave. Lakes, rivers, and bays are crossed off my to-do list so far, but the mission is far from over. The journey for novelty waves may never end.
