Ben Gravy has become something of an expert in surfing the Great Lakes – which is very difficult to gain expertise in. First, there are five of them, and all have different moods and shorelines and setups and conditions. You get the idea. Second, to dial in the Great Lakes for surfing, one must suffer through some of the most unimaginable weather because, well, that’s when the Great Lakes get surf – late fall and the dead of winter. Ben of course, became proficient in surfing in the Midwest during his time trying to surf all 50 states. But he keeps coming back despite the nasty weather: the people, and the waves, are worth the journey.
