The Inertia

It’s hard to comprehend because we haven’t really seen anything like it before. This was the first year of the foil division in the iconic Molokai2Oahu race, in which Kai Lenny absolutely crushed the crossing in under three hours. But all of the athletes riding foils crushed it–and then had their souls crushed as they had to paddle the current-filled flatwater into the landing. This 30-second clip shows just how big the water was out in the channel, and how far this sport has yet to go.
