Fishing guide David Mangum is a living analogy for all people who have a singular focus in going after anything outdoors that feeds the soul: powder, waves, big game. And while he can sometimes be a dick about it, as you’ll see in the film, it takes that singular focus to capture the ultimate prize. A metaphor for life.
