At the beginning of the year, I had my car broken into with all my camera equipment inside. Apparently, stealing the third row seat out of my type of SUV is a big problem around my area. And seeing as I was headed to the beach early in the morning, they hit the jackpot.
Of course, a solid string of swells and good weather hit the coast of California while I was dealing with insurance, but shortly after, I found there was a silver lining in having all my photography gear stolen. The burglar made the decision for me whether to shoot or surf, and looking back on it, I’m glad I didn’t have to choose because it would’ve been impossible. There are a few film photos in here that I took while waiting for all the replacements, but the rest were taken around home with my new toys.
