The SNAPT films are some of the best surf films in all of surfing. The fifth, however, will be the last. But from the clips coming out in preparation, it looks as though it might very well be the best.
In the most recent dump of footage shot while filming for what’s described as “a special SNAPT project,” Mason Ho, Clay Marzo, and Parker Coffin headed to Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch.
It’s hard to think of a trio better suited for a wave like the one at the Surf Ranch. All extraordinarily talented, all extraordinarily comfortable, all extraordinarily bent on pushing themselves to the limits.
The wave at the Surf Ranch isn’t an easy one to surf. Although it may not look it, the wave is challenging even for the best in the world. It’s not uncommon to see someone who surfs at a very high level blow a wave. It’s fast. The barrel isn’t a stand up size, and creating enough speed in it is a tall order. Luckily, though, Ho, Marzo, and Coffin are more than up to the task.
