If you grew up surfing around the turn of the century, then you know exactly who Gorkin is. From his ridiculous slew of East Coast competition wins to the self-invented “Gorkin Flip,” it’s hard not to be a fan of the charismatic shredder from Florida. For years, Gorkin has produced some of the most fun-to-watch edits ever to come from the East Coast. From his Lost segments to his classic personal edits on YouTube, there was no shortage of entertainment from the guy. However, over the past several years, the surfing world has been missing the prolific character. Today, that has all ended. After spending too much time in the shaping bay, cranking out Gorkin Surfboards in Florida, Gorkin took his first trip in two years down to Nicaragua to shred for a week on a few of his own shapes. Let’s just hope it isn’t another two years until we see him again.
