When winter hits Oahu’s fabled North Shore, it feels as though school just let out for summer. For the first few real swells, there’s an air of jittery excitement; a sort of nervous energy. As the winter wears on, things settle down a bit–not in terms of waves, of course, but the sense of urgency feels a little less sharp. It’s not diminished, it’s just a little calmer.
