Anyone who’s surfed big waves knows that with size comes treachery. This week, at the Big Wave World Tour’s Dive ‘N Surf Oregon Pro at Nelscott Reef, some competitors took their fair share of lickings. One especially rough beating was delivered upon the heads of Zach Wormhoudt and Jamie Sterling at 1:13. Another came at 1:27 with Zach Wormhoudt making it around a fat section only to be pummeled by the oncoming whitewater.
