Wrightsville Beach – and the rest of Southeast North Carolina, for that matter – is an excellent place to photograph. When photographing waves, I pursue elegant colors and textures rather than the uniqueness of waves. I’m an extremely picky person when it comes to what conditions I shoot in, but when the conditions are right, I know exactly what I’m looking for. I strive for elegance and beauty in the most simplest forms.
North Carolina offers everything I could imagine when looking for a great wave photo. Although Wrightsville isn’t known for its waves, I must say that it has some of the best sunsets and sunrises I’ve ever seen. It’s what I live for. Albeit crowded in some areas, North Carolina has some beautiful secluded spots that I love to visit when I need a some time to myself. The imagery that I capture is an excellent reminder of how beautiful the power and energy of moving water can be.
