The Inertia

If you missed The Inertia’s 5th Annual Evolve Summit, you missed a banger of a party. Fret not, though… we’ll have more. It was a wonderful night, taking place in Encinitas, California, at the Changing Tides headquarters.

It’s our favorite event of the year, celebrating unique individuals making a positive impact in surf and outdoor culture. This year, some 400 folks showed up to join the party and get inspired by people like Selema Masekela, Pete Gustin, Becky Mendoza, and many more.

At the end of the night, we premiered our latest film, Gen UP: Caity, featuring Caity Simmers, who is at the forefront of a generational movement of female surfers set to change the face of competition. Airs, barrel riding, rail work, this Oceanside, California native has it all, and a style to go with it unlike any seen in recent years on the Championship Tour. But Caity’s head is in the right place. She qualified for the CT in 2022 only to turn down the opportunity to spend more time with her family – and just be a kid. Still just 16, Caity Simmers is wise beyond her years.

Thanks to everyone who showed up and made the night as good as it was. See you next year!

The Inertia would like to thank White Claw, Kona Brewing Company, Klean Kanteen, Waiakea, Red Bull, Aventon, Sun Bum, Sambazon, and Parkit, and all brands who helped make this gathering possible.
