If you look back in time at any sport, there is progression. New generations take what older ones teach them and expand upon it. Runners run faster. Swimmers swim faster. Aerials get bigger, tricks more complicated. The torch, as they say, gets passed. Which is why Red Bull decided to make the next generation of New Zealand surfers the focus of the newest installment of Made in New Zealand.
There are a handful of New Zealand surfers that you’ve heard of — Paige Hareb and Kehu Butler, to name a few — but there are many more up and comers that you might not have. But as the short film above demonstrates, the future is in good hands.
