The Inertia

Heading into the 59th Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach, the stakes were higher than ever. With just two events left before mid-season cuts, the athletes were feeling the pressure and knew they had to put in their best performance if they wanted a chance at ringing “The Bell.”

The event did not disappoint. With a week’s worth of impressive surfing, a few superheat match-ups, and a number of high scoring rides, the event was one for the books. On finals day, two-time world champ Tyler Wright and Brazil’s Filipe Toledo cinched the win, making it the first win at the iconic event for both surfers. The above video highlights some of the best moments from Bells Beach and documents how Wright and Toledo surfed their way to victory.
