The Boardroom International Surfboard Show went down at Del Mar Fairgrounds in sunny San Diego this weekend, and holy smokes it was awesome. Legends roamed the aisles and packed the booths, surfboards of all shapes and sizes lined the walls, and smiles graced the faces of all the lucky boys and girls in the expo.
On Saturday the San Diego Surf Film Festival premiered “Sine Qua Non” to a packed house where the star of the film, Greg Long, made an appearance answering any and all questions the crowd threw his way. The response was so awesome that they showed the documentary again on Sunday.
Ricky Carroll won the Icons of Foam shape off in honor of Mark Richards and a $1,000 check to go along with it. He came ahead of a star-studded line up that included two-time champion Wayne Rich, John Pyzel and the youngest ever participant, 15-year old Taz from the Canary Islands.
