There’s a lot of energy in the Indian Ocean, and when a storm brews out there and aims its power at Bali, the waves get good. Nowhere, perhaps, as good as they get at Uluwatu when it’s on, and the biggest swell of the year recently funneled in. With an easy southeast trade wind, the whole day was chock full of action.
“The Bombie had the biggest sets and some big mean sections,” wrote Surfers of Bali. “There were some tow-ins but it was mostly paddle power out there and Outside Corner.”
It’s pretty late in Uluwatu’s surf season to see waves as big as this. “This will likely take the prize for the biggest day of 2022,” Surfers of Bali continued, “but September can still produce meaningful swells, so you never know.”
