Among all the known waves in the world that barrel, these seven are the best. In my humble opinion. What’s more, they’ll certainly make your Monday more enjoyable. Guaranteed barrels do that.

1. KIRRA, Australia

Kirra is the crown jewel of Australia’s Gold Coast and, to many, the best wave on the planet. It can remain dormant while the neighboring points and beaches deliver the goods, but with the right swell direction and some size, it’s second to none. See 2013’s final at the Quik Pro for evidence.

2. CLOUDBREAK, Fiji

Ryan Hipwood is a mad man. This is his 2012 XXL Ride of the Year entry, which shows us all how to keep our cool in big, barreling surf.

3. PIPELINE, Hawaii

No justification necessary as to Pipe’s inclusion here. Anthony Walsh gives us a peek inside the most notorious wave on Earth.

4. G-LAND, Indonesia

G-Land is a wave that should be on every surfer’s bucket list, regardless of which foot is forward. It’s a bit more off the beaten track than the breaks in Bali, but this Indonesian gem is worth the extra gas.

5. TEAHUPOO, French Polynesia

Big, hollow, and thick. Teahupoo is one of the meanest, most ruthless waves out there. This footage from the Code Red swell proves it too, as if you needed more evidence.

6. DESERT POINT, Indonesia

Remember Andy Irons’ section in High Five and the epic 15-second barrel he got at Desert Point? Here is Chris Ward doing his best impression of Kauai’s champ. Tough call determining which is better.

7. P-PASS, Micronesia

P-Pass is the stuff dreams are made of. Tyler Wright and the Rip Curl ladies crew prove why it’s one of the best barrels in the world.

Barreled. Totally barreled.

Barreled. Totally barreled.
