Tandem surfing is weird. It’s awesome, in a weird kind of way. How, for instance, did surfing with someone else flopping around on top of you become a thing? And how has it stayed the course? The pair above are Chuck Inman and Lauren Oiye, and they came in second place to Kalani Vierra and Krystl Apeles at the tandem surfing championships. On December 5th and 6th, at Makaha Beach, Vierra and Apeles won a cool $4000 for doing things together on surfboards that pretty much no one can do, except for a very small group of tandem surfers. Talented? Incredibly. Think about how hard this would be. So hard!
