The Inertia

Rusty Preisendorfer is a legend in the surfing world. He’s been in the game for a long time now. Back in the ’60s, Rusty was fixing dings for friends here and there. From there, he slowly built Rusty Surfboards into one of the most influential brands in all of surfing. If you’ve got a modern thruster in your quiver, you have, at least in part, Rusty to thank for it. The boards he was shaping for Occy in the ’80s were the basis for them, and he’s still an innovator.

His factory sits in San Diego, and it’s an interesting place. Ollie Henry, Wade Carmichael, Letty Mortensen, and Jacob Szekely gave the viewer a little tour of it, including a walk through Rusty’s history books.
