Western Australia boasts a coastline that’s teeming with life – as big as the ocean might seem, you’re never alone out there. For most people, it’s sharks they’re thinking about as they paddle out, but in reality, you’re far more likely to have your session interrupted by a pod of friendly dolphins.
I’ve been filming this stretch of coastline in WA for almost four years now, and while dolphins aren’t a rarity, it’s still a treat to see so many getting involved in the surf at once.
They come to play when the swell is up and can be spotted bouncing around the lineup like excited groms, taking off on party waves and, more often than not, out surfing the surfers. As you can see in the video, they’re the true locals. Enjoy!
