The term “wet season” in a tropical paradise usually means consistently dumping rain, and with four days of torrential downpours and no swell, I started to appreciate the value of a good dry season trip.
My first week was spent adventuring away from the ocean, capturing the cultural aspects involved in a Balinese lifestyle. Towards Christmas, the weather perked up and the waves started to pulse. A fun three-to-four-foot swell hung around and, to be honest, I surfed more than I shot.
