What is it about the ocean that continuously calls out to surfers? I sat down with wave riders of all ages to ask that question and find out what draws them to the water.
There’s a hustle on land that doesn’t exist in the ocean. Sights and sounds that engulf us in the streets don’t survive beyond the point where the sand meets the water. And so that moment our feet touch the sea, the residue of everyday tasks melts away. Bills, work, and school seem remote. Now, we just concentrate on the water, immersing ourselves in the ocean.
