Few people can shoot massive surf as well as Tucker Wooding. The surf videographer and commercial fisherman has made a name for himself filming humanity’s most insane surfers battling the world’s angriest waves. Of course, the past few weeks have been a gold mine for the type of footage Wooding captures, and January 5th was no different.
On the same day that Haleiwa was popping off over on Oahu, Maverick’s also decided to flex its muscles, and Wooding was there to capture it all from a drone’s-eye view. What came out of the endeavor was an edit of an afternoon surf session that equally captures the beauty and horror in Half Moon Bay. There’s nothing quite like seeing a surfer barreling down the face of a wave so massive it eclipses the setting sun.
