Back in 2015, surfing’s resident centaur and funny man, Sterling Spencer, dropped his opus, “GOLD.” It was everything you’d expect from a man famous for putting together side-splitting web edits voicing over scenes like Jeremy Flores denying a child an autograph and peppering in some great surfing. When it released, though, Sterling also revealed in a heartfelt post he’d been privately struggling with depression for some time. Since, the man’s been honest about his mental health in an effort to destigmatize what many around the world are wrestling with in their own way.
The now voluminously bearded “Sterls” also appears to be in full experimentation mode when it comes to alternative craft – a move we’re all for. Here, the Pensacola native puts a Chris Christenson fish through its paces even finding a little tiny wave shade.
