It takes a lot to stand out on the North Shore. It could be coming out of a heavy wipeout unscathed, or coming out of a double overhead monster like it’s no big deal, that turns a few heads along the 7 Mile Miracle. But the truth is there are few amazing things people haven’t accomplished on the North Shore. So many people have come here and caught the waves of their lives, taken the poundings of their lives, and often made names for themselves in the process. And that’s what makes it even more impressive when you can be one of those surfers who doesn’t just show up and have one good winter on the North Shore. Nope, for these guys it’s all about sustained excellence. Here we have guys like Kelly Slater, John John Florence and a few other all-stars showing off.
