South Stradbroke Island, also known as Straddie, has no shortage of great waves. However, it can also be a cruel and unforgiving mistress. In this most recent clip from Raw Surfing’s YouTube channel, the Australian break takes a few heads as payment from those who dare challenge it.
If you started off your week and chose violence, closeouts, drop-ins, trips over the falls, and one especially brutal board to the face at the 33-second mark, are all on the menu.
However, as much as a little schadenfreude can get you through the day, in this case we honestly hope board-to-the-face man is okay. The helmeted surfer making an appearance later on in the clip probably has the right idea.
