Back in the winter of 2014, I made a documentary film called The Winter Surf. It was a seven-minute short depicting the beauty of winter surf here in South Korea.
Last year, I was itching to share more of the life of people who spend their winters surfing here, including some who drive three hours and more just to get to the coast for some cold swell. That’s how The Winter Surf 2:Passion was born. It’s a documentary dive following five different surfers living in Korea, with the meat and potatoes of it all exploring how these people can have such a strong passion for riding waves in a harsh environment and how that same depth of passion can be translated into other sports. Passion is passion. If you really want something, you go for it.
