Sunrise at one of my favorite shooting spots. I like to call this ledge "Tyson's" because it hits you so hard and remains mostly un-surfed. Just the odd session by the grateful few keep her company as the seasons roll by. Photo: Pierre de Villiers
Simon Fish maintains his composure as a low flying plane gets within a couple of meters. This is one of my favorite images and is truly a once in a lifetime shot. Photo: Pierre de Villiers
The moment we all wait for.... being in the right place, the right time, and the joy that follows. Photo: Pierre de Villiers
Love the classic inside out shot. Who doesn't?! The black and white gives the light rays a warm translucent feeling and adds something different to the image. Photo: Pierre de Villiers
The Transkei or TK as we like to call it. Wave-rich area with no one around. Bring your mates and explore. Photo: Pierre de Villiers
This ledge is where I spend most of my time. It's pretty fickle, but when it's on, its shallow and thick and full of magic! Photo: Pierre de Villiers

This is my mate Jono Bruton. The guy is a beast and flies like a bird! Just raw talent! Jono is from a place called Gonubie (home of legends), and can often be seen dominating his local point with huge turns and an aerial attack that leaves onlookers gasped. Photo: Pierre de Villiers
This is one of my Dead Reckoning team mates, Tyrell Johnson. A more amped and committed individual you will not find. He froths to go surfing and is always keen no matter what conditions are like. All round nice guy with a heavy back foot and loads of talent. Photo: Pierre de Villiers
Jefferey's Bay and the 'no nukes' protest at the Billabong Pro. All the fishing trawlers parked just off the back line and put their lights on in support of the protest. Photo: Pierre de Villiers
I got hammered after taking this shot but got to see Tyrell smashing it moments before the impact. Photo: Pierre de Villiers
Jono lifting off at his local spot. I like to go with the black and white option on cloudy overcast days. It adds drama. Photo: Pierre de Villiers
This swell read 6 meters @ 18 seconds, which is pretty rare around these parts. Just so much energy and power. Photo: Pierre de Villiers
