The Inertia

Ireland is full of surprises. Yes, Mullaghmore gets all the press but there’s much more to the Emerald Isle than that behemoth of a wave. There’s more cold slab surfing, like the few minutes featured above from the YouTube page Cliffs of Hope. The cut is from Ireland’s West Coast and the Cliffs of Moher, a breathtaking region to say the least. Well, this “little” slab provided some big clips for a number of cold-water chargers. Russell Bierke even makes a guest appearance.

“Amazing springtime surf days at the Cliffs of Moher and in Lahinch Bay,” wrote CoH on its page. “This was an incredible five days of swell. Tuesday and Wednesday were out-of-control giant at the Cliffs so we went and surfed in Lahinch Bay. A few hardy souls braved the Cliffs of Moher, but the tide was deep and it was so giant. A few waves were caught.” Hardy souls is right. How’s the shape of that beautiful barrel?
