The Inertia

Call me a fan of diversity. And a fan of athletes with diverse interests and abilities. That’s why I think Mo Freitas is so fun to watch. The kid, who grew up in Haleiwa, isn’t just a rad person, he’s one of the most diverse young athletes to grace the ocean in a long time (during an era when we’re kind of seeing a movement of young, multi-sport athletes grace ocean sport; see Kai Lenny and Zane Schweitzer).

Freitas can paddle into Jaws,  shortboard at that gnarly, barreling wave down the street from his house, and of course, rip the bag off any wave he decides to SUP. And he has won some of the biggest stand-up races in the world. Good thing he can edit his own cuts on his computer. That way, you get to watch him too. Here’s his latest.
