Almost 2000 people turned out for the Sean Collins Memorial Paddle Out at the south side of Huntington Beach to pay their respects and hear a eulogy from Mike Parsons.

On December 26th, Sean Collins, the founder of Surfline.com, passed away from a heart attack. Celebrated as one of surfing’s most influential people, Collins founded Surline in 1995. It evolved into one of the most widely used forecasting sites, with not only surfers using it, but lifeguards, the military, and the National Weather Service. With approximately 1.5 million hits per month, the website revolutionized the way surfers tracked swells.

Collins is survived by his wife Daren and sons Tyler and A.J.
