The Wedge may be the most famous shorebreak in the world, but it’s certainly not the only game in town. Just a half-hour north, Seal Beach recently made a case for itself.
The case in question comes courtesy of BEEFS T.V. In The latest video from the YouTube mainstay, Blair Conklin, Yadin Nicol, Tyler Stanaland and others ride some serious, barreling shorebreak on the south side of the Seal Beach pier.
There’s nothing quite like watching a surfer tuck into a heavy barrel, only to realize that the whole drama is playing out in six inches of water. Of course, skimboarders like Conklin are fairly used tot this sort of situation, but that doesn’t make it any less stressful to picture these guys getting pounded directly into the sand like some sort of wetsuit-sporting Looney Tunes character.
