In nature, everything’s got to eat. Plankton gets eaten by crabs. Crabs get eaten by turtles. And sometimes, turtles get eaten by sharks. Not in this case, though, because a pair of guys rescued a loggerhead turtle from the jaws of death… literally.

Ironically, they took the shark’s meal after they spend the morning shooting birds and fishing, but turtles are cute and not generally on OUR menu, but we’ll just choose to ignore that because like we said, everything’s got to eat, including us.

The rescue happened when the pair were out fishing for yellowfin tuna. They spotted a tiger shark thrashing about, and when they came close, they could see it had a pretty firm grip on a turtle that understandably looking a little panicked. The boat, however, appeared to spook the shark, and the guys were able to scoop the turtle up and relocate it away from the shark. That’s one lucky turtle and one unlucky shark.
