Brazilian freesurfer Petterson Thomaz teamed up with filmer Luan Felipe Melo to put together an energetic and beautifully shot surf film called Running Down A Dream. Over the course of three years, the pair filmed in Brazil, Costa Rica, Chile and Indonesia. Then they spent a few months editing down what must have been a mountain of footage into a tight 27-minute edit.
Thomaz and Melo also dug a little deeper to find some meaning beyond sick airs and aggressive carves (although there are plenty of both on display). “The film carries within it a message deeply rooted in our hearts,” reads the description on Petterson’s YouTube channel. “A message that celebrates the courage to chase our innermost dreams, to live each day immersed in what we love, even when adversities persistently make their presence felt.”
