Fed up with the “Polar Vortex,” the Rozbern crew decided to trade 5-mils for board shorts and head down to Puerto Rico for a little research and development. I rallied some of the up-and-coming Rozbern talent along with Rozbern’s shaper John Oppito to go try out new boards and get some feedback. While the waves never really showed, the crew made the most of the trip.
Days consisted of surfing from the early morning until late afternoon, regardless if it was only waist high, and capping it off by talking board design and heckling the grom over a few rum punches. Next time maybe the waves will cooperate, but until then it’s back to the cold, dark, sand bottomed pits of NJ.
